14 young researchers from the University of Debrecen won the János Bolyai Research Fellowship. This year’s winners were greeted on 16 September at a ceremony held at the Headquarters of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA) in Budapest.
The Central European University building in Budapest has not disappeared but education activities are not held there and students need to go to Vienna to get a CEU degree, Budapest Mayor Gergely Karácsony said on Sunday.

The University of Debrecen’s Sports Science Coordination Institute awarded the title of Outstanding Athlete to university students who achieved outstanding results in sports and provided outstanding performance. Twenty-seven talented young people received the recognition at the award ceremony.
YoUDay will be held at the Nagyerdei Stadium on Wednesday, September 15th. During the event, DKV Zrt. Will launch auxiliary flights on tram lines 1, bus lines 22 and 24, thus facilitating the arrival and return of visitors.
A graduate student of the Faculty of Music of the University of Debrecen achieved an outstanding result in an online international percussion competition. Levente Tóth finished first in the 21st Century Talents Percussion Competition in Ottawa.

UD normally offers eight BA/BSc programs of seven of its faculties in this framework, and the application forms for these can be submitted by the students in August and September at the institutions located abroad.
Faculty of Music of the UD hosted Young Musicians’ Summer Academy for the twentieth time this year. There were as many as 170 participants from sixteen different countries at the traditional music course event, which was crowned with several concerts performed by Zoltán Kodály World Youth Orchestra.
Among universities in Hungary, UD has been one of the most popular choices of students taking supplementary entrance examinations. A total of more than nine hundred applications have been received for admission to as many as 86 programs.
